Halfway Through 2025: Celebrating the People, Progress and Purpose at Anjali

We’re already halfway through 2025 and what a busy time it’s been!

As a small team, we spend most of our time getting things done. But today, we’re taking a moment to stop, look back, and appreciate how far we’ve come.

People often think success means getting more money. And yes, funding helps us do our work. But that’s not the full picture.

Some of our best moments have been about people:

• Seeing someone grow in confidence
• Stepping up as a leader
• Watching our work bring joy and connection in the community

These quiet, personal wins matter just as much, if not more, than the big, loud ones.

In a world that often celebrates noise, we’re choosing to focus on what really matters: being present, staying true to our values, and making a real difference.

Here are some of the special moments we wanted to share from the past six months:

One moment that stands out clearly for me was our group field visit to Lakeside Arts in Nottingham to see Cosmic Titans: Art, Science and the Quantum Universe. The work the dancers created afterwards, in just over an hour, was incredibly beautiful and moving. What struck me most was how the installation spoke to each dancer in a unique way, and how they translated those individual responses into such thoughtful and expressive movement.

A fantastic trip to Germany to work with com.dance to co-create a new piece inspired by non-verbal communication. 10 days of hard work, fun, dedication and collaboration!

Producer

As a trustee I’m beyond proud of the areas in which Anjali is consistently striving to develop it’s dancers, the sector and influence change. A big moment of joy is the development made in Nick’s career progression as he expands his choreographic practice to develop his own work and learn from sector peers like Gary Clarke and Motionhouse. Measures of success are different for everyone as are the timelines in which we accomplish them. As one of our longest company members, seeing the work Nick has been developing is really exciting for us and the rest of the company.

Chair of the Board

2025 is our 30th anniversary, and there is still time to support our work through our current fundraising campaign £30 for 30 years.

All donations go directly towards benefiting our participants and we are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer.
