Lauren Russell 
Assistant Producer 

Lauren originally trained as a primary school teacher, later specialising in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). After becoming disabled, her passion for movement led her to join Sidekick Dance in Leicester, where she learned to dance both in and out of her wheelchair. This experience ignited her commitment to inclusive dance practice.

Now, Lauren is a freelance dance artist who teaches for Sense and serves as the company coordinator for ID Dance Co. She has recently performed with Propel, the UK’s only professional all-wheelchair dance company.

In addition to her performance work, Lauren is a Resident Artist for People Dancing, where she has supported in developing the Disabled Dance Artists Network.
