Lauren Payne

Lauren joined Anjali in 2014 and has performed at U.Dance National Festival at Theatre Royal, Plymouth and The Lowry in Salford Quays.

After gaining her GCSE in Dance, Lauren studied at Greenwich Dance Academy and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she was awarded the Young Dance Ambassadors Silver Arts award. She took part in Sky TV’s Got to Dance and has performed at Sadler’s Wells and Trinity Laban.

Lauren performed in Genius, which toured in the UK, Spain and Mexico in 2017 and 2019. She often delivers Anjali outreach workshops.

She created her solo Unicorn, which has been performed at Together 2012 Festival, The Royal Festival Hall, Northern Ballet, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Lauren was invited by Lea Anderson to perform at Dance-Capture-Chelsea21at Chelsea Theatre in 2021.

Lauren works as a freelance dance artist for Parable Dance and dances with Magpie Dance.

She is also an Anjali company dancer representative which involves attending board meetings, speaking publicly in the media and at conferences, and being central to company development.

Fun Fact:

Lauren represented Great Britain in the Alpine Skiing Skinning Competition at the Special Olympic World Winter Games in Austria in 2017, gaining two Gold Medals
