Esmé Sensibar

Creative Enabler

Esmé is an interdisciplinary performance artist and facilitator whose creative practice is informed by their experience as a queer, neurodivergent and chronically ill person. Esmé loves improvisation, serious research and serious play and believes that everyone has the right and ability to express themselves through the arts.

Esmé holds a BA in Dance and an MA in Performance Practices from De Montfort University Leicester. They are very experienced in facilitating inclusive dance from their work with Sense National Inclusive Dance Programme, De Montfort University Leicester’s Dance department, We Are Epic’s ID Dance Co, and as Access Evaluator for artist Krystal S. Lowe. In 2025 Esmé also assisted the release of the Beyond Barriers in Dance national research project report.

Esmé has recently received seed funding from We Are Epic to begin the development of an inclusive LGBTQ+ performance space for Leicester/shire. Esmé is also creating grassroots dance and physical theatre with a small cohort which has been finding success with their debut piece, Gàllerte.

Alongside their creative practice, Esmé is also an experienced arts coordinator.
