Zoe Chen
Open Class Support Worker
Zoe has been dancing since the age of 3, where she fell in love with Ballet and the joy of dance. At the age of 14, Zoe started assisting and covering Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes at her local dance school.
After finishing her A levels, Zoe decided to pause her dance ambitions and go travelling. This ended up being 5 years of adventures, including a few years living in New Zealand. It is there where she discovered ecstatic dance and started to rediscover her relationship to dance, breaking down what dance and movement could be. It started her exploration of authentic movement, connection, and the impact of movement and dance on the mind and body.
Zoe currently works for The Parasol Project, a charity working with disabled and vulnerable people in Oxford. Working here has really shown Zoe the importance of inclusive spaces, especially places that encourage self-expression and connection. This led her to complete a Foundation in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Roehampton University, deepening her interest in becoming a Therapist in the future.
